Green River sits where the interstate gives up pretending there is anything either side of it. Red rock, open sky, and a horizon that does not get closer no matter how long you drive at it.

For three days in October we put a system down in it, and somewhere after the light goes the place stops behaving like a desert.

What you are actually driving out for

Six things this festival is built around. None of them are a wristband upgrade.

The site

Green River, Utah — open ground, red rock and no ceiling. The desert does the room acoustics and the light show for free.

The system

Sound by Heart & Sol Audio, specified for open air rather than borrowed from a club. Most of the budget lives here and you will hear where it went.

Three days

October 23 to 25. Long enough that the weekend stops being a schedule and starts being a place you live for a bit.

Workshops

A named part of the programme, not a side room. Things worth learning from people worth learning them from.

Art & installation

Work built for this landscape and lit for this night. If you make something that belongs out here, we want to hear about it.

After dark

Production designed for the hours when the temperature drops and the horizon disappears. That is when the invasion actually starts.

You drive until the map stops being useful.

The light goes orange, then goes.

Something on the horizon starts keeping time.

It is not a mirage and it is not going away.
